Same here but I don't understand with the "we don't need anymore fan characters" thing.

Since when is Blaze a fan character?

Thats what I dont understand either.

Must be a naive 10 year old Sonic fan.

Or they just think Blaze is such a Mary-Sue, she's like a fan character?

Originally, many fans of Sonic that saw Blaze thought "Omg, I saw that character before! Why that fan character sucks, why didn't they put in my Death the Hedgehog instead? He's so much more original!"

I think blaze is cool and pretty orginal (wouldn't say with Silver. Too much of a white Shadow look alike)
But Sega can do a flood of new characters that it can be overwhelming.

And the fanbase characters?
More than 50 times the number Sega has.

Hell at leats my fan character is original not like most wich are just recolours(like Silver)

Uh dude he´s a total recolour of Shadow wich btw is a recolour of Sonic.the hair thing is just to trick you

Sorry but that's a true fact 87.
Even mine but it's only a avatar hedgehog of me, so it's not intended to be a fan character.

And face it, Weiss makes a point. About 85-90% of ALL fan characters are recolors and that is a so true fact.

And probably 98% start off as recolours. Can't blame some of 'em, though. I mean some of us *cough me* has no scanner, and sucked at paint when being preteen *cough me* so there was no other real way than recolouring. I don't do it now, though, and I did draw her in my own way without "using a template" when drawing by hand.

Then again, it's just a general form of Sonic Art Style.

No matter how you look at it. If I were to draw a Red Hedgehog, you would say it's a re-color of Sonic.

Some not intended to be recolors but that just happens in this oversized fanbase.

I'm quite proud of mine, dispite it's a avatar of my real self, I had no one accuse my character being a ripoff or recolor.

At least me and you try to add originality with clothing and accessories.

I don't do recolours now, though. I think that it's a good way to start off, but not to stay in for all eternity. It's like Mary-Sues in fanfictions (they overlap each other a lot as well =P ) it's an early stage most people go through, but it's great if it leads to more original styles.

And I used Knuckles as recolour base =P And I photoshopped a lot to change the hairstyle and all. My first pic was pretty cool.

I don't think Blaze looks recolourish though.
