Sup.
SonicFreak here.
Welcome and thanks for reading this special anniversary forum.
We been out as a Sonic Forum for a Full year now through all 4 seasons and we been out since August 12, 2008.
Surprisingly, I would never thought my forum would lasted this long through all the troubles I've been through, but we somehow made it.
Anyway, I will tell my story how it all began and why I created my own Sonic Forum.
Here it is.
1-No Real Sonic FansBefore I discovered and began to browse on forums, I was a plain and big Sonic fan in real life.
Sonic is my main thing and hobby and I love it.
I've been a Sonic fan for 15 years in a row since 1993.
Despite that I'm 17, I'm still a true blue fan of Sonic.
Unfortunately as the years went by, my friends grew out of it and Sonic isn't popular in high school.
So I decided to turn to the internet to find Sonic fans to chat with.
That's when I discovered forums and began to work on my title as SonicFreak!
2-The Sonic FamilyThe Sonic Family
http://www.sonicfamily.org/portal.htmWas one of the first Sonic Forums I joined and been active in.
I practiclly began my title as SonicFreak as huge and one of the biggest Sonic fans and it began to rise my popularity.
Unfortunately, I got carried away and tried many schemes to raise my popularity.
I end up getting banned.
So I decided to step up my game and create my own rules and made my own creative Sonic Forum.
And from there SonicFreak forums was born.
3-Forum TroubleshootingLike a business, building your own forum takes time and most of all PATIENCE!
I remember spending my late summers, building my forum for hours.
And I had no computer at the time, so I used a PSP!
It to me hours to build it up just right.
Then my forum became too large, so for months, we've been changing our layouts and skins for a long time until we came up wwith the perfect set.
Members, was the hardest part.
Luckily, I had made nice friends from TSF, like Weiss and Renegade to stay and help and eventually, they became mods and like now, admins.
It literally took us 3-4 months to gain enough members for stable actvity.
Despite we are struggling a bit, activity is waaay better than before.
4-Big ResponsiblityLike every forum, it requires maintance and responsiblity.
Making sure activity good, check ups on staff and forums.
Being a forum founder isn't a easy job, but at the same time, it can be fun once you have freetime to chat with your members.
Right now I'm not doing so well as far as responsiblity in my own real life, so for a while of Summer '09, I been offline and a bit inactive.
5-Still Rising to the topMark my words, =SF= Forums, will someday become one of the top 10 largest Sonic Forum and network.
This kind of stuff takes years, but it eventually pays off.
We built up stronger forums, more members with over 100, virtual store and now, our very own online radio station.
I have plans in the future to push =SF= Forums to higher levels.
And we won't be known as SonicFreak Forums,
We'll be known as the,
SonicFreak Network
6-PresentWell as of present day I'm retiring for my forum.
More like taking lead/vacation.
I done enough work and push myself to the limits with this place, so now one of my longest member's, Zora aka Renegade will be taking over the forum for a few months.
I may regain controll after Fall or Winter Season ends.
But now, I'm just taking it easy.
I may join other Sonic Forums and begin to spread further word about =SF= Forums and get more members.
We need to work on affilates and need to make more friends and not enemies.
Anyway, thanks for reading a piece of history of this place.
And enjoy =SF= SonicFreak Forums!
The Ultimate place for Sonic Fans.
Sincerely,
SonicFreak!
